Direct Counsel is representing a well-known law firm seeking a Client Development Specialist to support its Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston offices.
Position Overview
The Client Development Specialist will work closely with the Senior Regional Marketing Manager and Office Managing Partners to develop and execute strategic marketing and business development initiatives for the assigned offices. This role requires a highly organized, proactive, and client-focused professional who can drive marketing strategy, foster client relationships, and support firm-wide and local business development goals. The ideal candidate will be located in the Dallas office.
Core Responsibilities
Serve as the primary marketing lead for assigned offices (Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston)
Partner with the Office Managing Partner (OMP) and Senior Regional Marketing Manager (RMM) to develop and execute local marketing strategies aligned with firm-wide and practice-specific goals.
Leverage personal and firm networks to build and maintain relationships with clients and prospective clients.
Plan, coordinate, and execute events and meetings to foster client engagement and strengthen relationships within priority industry sectors.
Identify opportunities for attorney engagement through thought leadership, presentations, and client-focused activities.
Monitor competitive positioning and provide informed recommendations to support business development objectives.
Manage office marketing budgets and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
Develop and maintain relationships with professional and civic organizations, industry associations, and educational institutions to secure leadership, speaking, and membership opportunities.
Partner with the Marketing team on targeted list development, client communications, and promotional activities.
Track marketing activities and outcomes for ROI and relationship management purposes.
Stay current on legal and business market trends and best practices in legal marketing.
Attend shareholder and committee meetings to support marketing initiatives and ensure consistent communication.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support office and firm-wide objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in professional services or law firm marketing, business development, or event coordination roles.
Law firm experience preferred.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and events with competing priorities and deadlines.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and client service skills.
Experience managing budgets and driving cost-effective strategies.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Flexible schedule and ability to travel as required.
Self-starter with a “can-do” attitude, resourcefulness, and ability to work under pressure.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
