Stepdown Nurse (RN) in Salisbury, NC

Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.\n\nStepdown and Progressive Care Registered Nurse Contract in Salisbury, NC\n\nA healthcare facility in Salisbury seeks experienced Registered Nurses to provide specialized care in a Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for RNs with a solid background in progressive patient care, surgical recovery, and cardiac monitoring. The unit focuses on complex cases including HPB surgery, womens surgery, and plastic surgery patients, offering a dynamic and supportive clinical environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities : \n

• Deliver skilled nursing care to patients recovering from major surgeries including Whipples, liver resections, hysterectomies, mastectomies, and breast reconstruction procedures.\n
• Manage advanced clinical tasks such as drain care, central line maintenance, G / J tube management, and administration of cardiac and Heparin drips.\n
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond according to ACLS protocols.\n
• Perform NGT placement and management, support catheter care, and assist with various surgical drains.\n
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including resource nurses and IV / VAT teams.\n
• Utilize EMR systems (Epic), Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensers, and telemetry monitoring equipment effectively.\n\nQualifications / Desired Experience : \n
• Active RN license with at least 18 months PCU experience preferred.\n
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.\n
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and advanced nursing techniques.\n
• Ability to perform CNA duties such as blood draws and Foley catheter insertion / removal.\n
• Telemetry monitoring experience beneficial.\n\nSchedule / Hours : \n
• 12-hour shifts : 6 : 45 AM to 7 : 15 PM or 6 : 45 PM to 7 : 15 AM.\n
• Weekend rotation every other weekend.\n
• Holiday work on approximately 75% of assigned holidays.\n
