About the Agency : The Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) is a state agency dedicated to helping Mississippians with disabilities to live and work independently. MDRS serves through four major programs : Vocational Rehabilitation (VR), Vocational Rehabilitation for the Blind (VRB), Office of Special Disability Programs (OSDP), and Disability Determination Services (DDS). Services also include support through Assistive Technology, the Office of Business Development and much more. About the Position : This position is available in the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services' Finance Division. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, compiling payroll reports; compiling and analyzing garnishment orders to effectively set up garnishments in the payroll system, analyze payroll data for other parties as needed; accounts payable functions; garnishment file management; garnishment customer support; answering garnishment orders, utilizing analytical abilities to appropriately identify, resolve, and limit the risk of payroll and billing errors; and other related duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be Successful : The employee would be expected to be organized and detail oriented; demonstrate problem solving and analytical abilities; be able to communicate effectively; maintain a positive attitude and be a team player; have a willingness to learn; and be able to display effective time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications : Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 3-5 years of experience. Hiring agency preferred qualifications : High School Diploma (or equivalent), with 3-5 years of experience, and a general knowledge of computers and other computer-type equipment used in the course of daily business practices. Experience with payroll processes and accounting systems, as well as familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word, is a plus.
