\n\nPACU RN Job Details – Los Alamos, NM\n \n

  • Employment Type : Locum tenens (Travel nursing contract)\n
  • Healthcare Setting : 47-bed acute care facility with a 3-bed PACU unit\n
  • Shift : 8-hour day shifts (06 : 30–14 : 30)\n
  • Hours per Week : 40\n
  • Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 09 / 08 / 2025 – End : 12 / 08 / 2025)\n
  • Weekend / On-Call : Every other weekend and on-call coverage required (30-minute response time)\n
  • Orientation : Weekly, every Monday\n
  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1950-$2000\n
  • \n\nPACU Registered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active RN license eligible for New Mexico (NM nursing jobs)\n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PACU nurse experience\n
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required\n
  • Fingerprinting and background check required per New Mexico healthcare regulations\n
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced perioperative environment\n
  • Professional appearance and compliance with perioperative nursing dress code (no open-toed shoes, unapproved fingernails)\n
  • \n\nPACU Nurse Responsibilities\n \n

  • Deliver high-quality post-anesthesia care to adult and pediatric patients\n
  • Monitor and assess patients recovering from surgical procedures (e.g., appendectomy, gallbladder surgery)\n
  • Collaborate with surgical and pre-op teams; shared responsibilities with Preop (no floating outside unit)\n
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation using CQI and Medhost EHR systems\n
  • Respond promptly to on-call cases within 30 minutes as required\n
  • Ensure patient safety and adhere to infection control standards\n
