Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (New York healthcare jobs)

Unit : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – Cardiac Stepdown

Assignment Length : 16 weeks (option to extend up to 32 weeks)

Start Date : December 15, 2025

Shift : 12-hour days (7a–7p), rotating schedule

Hours per Week : 36

Weekend & Holiday : Every other weekend; 2 out of 3 major holidays required (Thanksgiving, Christmas / Christmas Eve, New Year's Day / Eve)

Floating : Required to appropriate units as part of Resource Float team

Documentation : EPIC experience required

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active New York RN license (or proof of application)

Minimum 1 year recent experience in cardiac stepdown, telemetry, or PCU nursing jobs

1 year of tele experience required

Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications

NIHSS certification (required prior to start)

EPIC documentation experience within past 2 years

Proficiency with insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV starts, and post-cardiac cath care

Ability to float to similar units as needed

Reliable transportation (personal or rental vehicle recommended; public transportation not accessible)

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with acute cardiac and medical conditions in a PCU setting

Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced cardiac monitoring, including telemetry and titration of cardiac drips

Perform insulin drips, cardiac drips, IV starts, and post-cardiac catheterization care

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including respiratory and anesthesia support

Accurately document patient care using EPIC

Float to appropriate units as assigned and participate in Resource Float team

Follow unit protocols, including dress code (navy blue or white scrubs, closed-toe nonskid shoes)

Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development
