Responsibilities

Midwest Center for Youth and Families is seeking a talented and dynamic Residential Therapist to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals! This is a 8am - 4 : 30pm position with the opportunity to work a Sunday - Thursday or a Tuesday - Saturday schedule.

Midwest Center for Youth and Families (a subsidiary of UHS) has been in operation since 1997, serving youth across the country that are in need of psychiatric treatment for variety of mental health issues. The Midwest Center is a respected healthcare provider, fully accredited, 74-bed private, residential treatment facility with locations in Valparaiso and Kouts, IN. We are dedicated to care of the hearts and minds of our patients with compassion and superior quality behavioral healthcare services through our full-immersion Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) program for children and adolescents ages 10 - 18 who struggle with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges. The Residential Therapist carries out the responsibilities of obtaining social history information to familiarize clinical staff and physicians with the patient and any past / present problems. Acts as liaison with the patient's family or support system and referral sources. Provides direct psychotherapy to patients in individual, family, and group settings. Assists with utilization review with third party payor sources.

Job Duties / Responsibilities :

• Carry a caseload of 8 patients
• Provide weekly individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy
• Formulate & implement initial Treatment Plan and Master Treatment plan with updates
• Work with family and / or referral source for appropriate and adequate discharge planning and aftercare
• Attend court hearings as necessary
• Attend weekly staffing
