Summary
Our client, a premier mechanical contractor with nearly 100 years of excellence in customer service and employee ownership, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Project Manager for their San Diego, CA location. Recognized for maintaining the highest safety standards and delivering exceptional quality, they specialize in design / build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC, advanced mechanical and industrial system installations, and state-of-the-art Building Information Modeling (BIM). This role will oversee mechanical construction projects, ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget completion across sectors such as Healthcare, Life Sciences, Commercial, and Industrial markets.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ensure the safety of field personnel assigned to projects
Oversee labor productivity, quality assurance, and field coordination
Manage project financial performance, including forecasting, cash flow, and reporting
Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment
Administer change orders and maintain accurate project documentation
Communicate regularly with clients and subcontractors
Direct overall project execution in line with company policies and procedures
Supervise and support team members, ensuring accountability during work hours
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred
57 years of mechanical construction experience
Proven track record in managing projects from inception to completion
Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu, Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting), and QuoteSoft Estimating Software
Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint)
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and capability to work independently
Skilled in interpreting written, oral, and diagram-based instructions
Proficient in managing and archiving technical project documentation
