Grants Accountant

Growing Nonprofit Organization is seeking a Grant Accountant. Under the general direction of the Director of Grants, the position is responsible for the accounting and reporting of a portfolio of grants representing specific service deliveries to targeted populations. Additional responsibilities are as follows :

Responsibilities :

• Analyze monthly expenditures for federal, state, and city grants, ensuring accurate reporting.
• Prepare budget-to-actual reports for government grants and contracts.
• Collaborate with program directors on annual budget modifications and ongoing financial planning.
• Prepare monthly closing entries and requests for reimbursement from funding sources.
• Maintain and analyze grant-funded program P&L statements, including variance analysis.
• Develop and track program budgets, including journal entries for personnel, fringe benefits, and OTPS expenditures.
• Manage grant closeouts and related adjusting entries.
• Maintain budget information within the general ledger and prepare periodic spending projections.
• Support audit and desk review processes, including preparing schedules and documentation for city, state, and federal grants.
• Complete other finance-related projects as assigned.
