UMMO offers exquisite regional Italian cuisine. We are currently seeking a Line Cook for our renowned restaurant in River North.

Title: Line Cook

Job Summary: We are seeking skilled and dedicated line cooks to join our dynamic culinary team. As a line cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and cooking high-quality meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Your attention to detail, ability to work well under pressure, and passion for creating delicious dishes will contribute to our customers' exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipe specifications and established standards.
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients.
• Ensure food preparation areas are clean, sanitized, and organized.
• Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain health and sanitation standards.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Monitor food quality and presentation throughout the cooking process.
• Assist in the development and improvement of menu items and recipes.
• Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain an effective and positive work environment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar role.
• Solid knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Food handling certification or willingness to obtain one.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Culinary degree or certification from an accredited culinary program.
• Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of various cuisines and the ability to adapt to diverse menu offerings.
• Creative mindset and willingness to contribute to menu development.
• Ability to handle high-stress situations and maintain composure.
