About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Credit Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be the senior manager responsible for maintaining and setting loan policy, managing the credit and loan closing processes, and providing oversight of the credit granting process. This role involves approving major credit exposures, managing the day-to-day credit department and loan closing process, and preparing materials for and chairing various credit risk management committees. The Chief Credit Officer will also be involved in setting credit standards for lending, meeting with portfolio managers and credit analysts to structure and negotiate loan requests, and ensuring adherence to credit policies and regulatory requirements.
Applicants for the Chief Credit Officer position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field, with at least 10 years of progressive experience in credit-related positions within community or large banks or financial services firms. The role requires extensive experience in approving complex commercial real estate, C&I lending, SBA lending, and construction financing, as well as a substantial delegated credit authority. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in regulatory examinations, preparation of policies and procedures, and a strong background in underwriting and structuring complex commercial banking transactions. Additionally, the Chief Credit Officer must have the ability to manage a team of employees with diverse technical skills and experience, and to work with various internal and external contacts to manage credit exposure effectively.
