Job Summary
The Controller is responsible for planning and directing the company’s accounting operations. This role oversees the Accounting Department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations. The Controller ensures the integrity of financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and government regulations, and the implementation of internal controls. Additionally, the role involves producing budgets and collaborating on forecasts, conducting financial analysis to support strategic decisions, and coordinating with external auditors during the annual audit.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
- Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance.
- Produces the annual budget and collaborates on forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
- Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required.Experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting managerial experience required.Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Epicor, Sage 300) and advanced Excel skills required.Experience in a senior accounting role strongly preferred (e.g. Controller).Required Skills
In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proven ability to lead and develop accounting staff.Physical Demands

The hiring range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 per year. This range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications.
