Summary Of Duties And Responsibilities
Works with territory rental sales reps to grow existing customer relationships and provide support to secure rentals and equipment sales. At the direction of the branch managers, takes the lead on all large projects in the territory as the point of contact for the general contractor. Works as primary point of contact for all military bases in the territory in order to secure rentals and equipment sales.
Essential Functions
- Works with all rental sales representatives in the field to establish and grow new and existing customer base.
- Establish year over year growth with list of "key customers" assigned by rental manager.
- Assist customers in selection and application of equipment pointing out product advantages; represent company's interests.
- Ensure all business transactions are conducted in accordance with company policies.
- Quotes customer daily, weekly and monthly rental rates and rents out the equipment.
- Explains terms and conditions of the rental to the customer. Completes rental contacts by writing specifications; creating bid proposals; pricing changes; obtaining, following up on credit application and required paperwork.
- Coordinate & monitor transportation & logistics for rental equipment fleet.
- Tracks all equipment out on rent and in the rental fleet. Logs daily activity. When terms of the rental agreement are not met, customer is contacted and billed for additional days.
- Follow-up on adjustments and corrections; coordinating information and requirements with service supervisor; demonstrating proper use of equipment.
- Checks in equipment upon return, checks for damage and coordinates with service for fueling, repairs, etc.
- Maintains rapport with customer by communicating progress; resolving renter concerns.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, And Skills Required
Must have a high school diploma or have passed a G.E.D. test.College degree in marketing or business is preferred.Minimum two (2) years' experience in rental material handling, capital goods retail sales / service, or logistical experience preferred.Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.Must have a valid State Drivers' License with a good driving record.Ability and willingness to travel.Must have good working knowledge of MS Office programs.Testing Requirements
