Days, some evenings until 7pm EST\n5x8 hour shifts\nNo holiday, call or weekends\nOutpatient center location\n\n\nResponsibilities\n \n
Reviews patient history and physician's orders\nEducates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation\nPositions patient and performs imaging procedure(s)\nEnsures proper imaging techniques related to patients age and ability to understand procedure (sight, hearing needs, ability to cooperate) to ensure image quality is successfully obtained\nReviews patient information and interpretation of data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age related needs and provision of care\nPerforms nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization\nPrimarily adult outpatient procedures (16y / o+)\nVarious general nuclear medicine exams such as bone scans, Hidascans, thyroid, etc. (will not be conducting nuclear cardiology imaging scans)\nMust have experience with conducting Pet CT scans (CT Certification NMTCB- CT required per NYS)\nAnalyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results\nTakes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure based on radiologist recommendation\nEnters, transmits and reports scan results using Epic\nOrders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations / standards\nMonitors patient condition continually and reports / responds to changes in status to Nursing for review / escalation as needed\nMaintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the Clinical Nuclear Medicine rooms such as linens, injections supplies, etc.\nMaintain high level or professionalism in all interactions including respectfully communicating, maintaining a positive attitude and reporting to all hours as scheduled\n\n\nQualifications\n \n
Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and certified in Nuclear Medicine (NM) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with CT Certification and NYS Rad Tech License\nBLS (American Heart Association)\nMUST have CT Certification NMTCB- CT or ARRT-CT\n1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine required, 2 years of Nuclear Medicine preferred\nPET / CT training and licensure required, but will consider candidates who have not professionally conducted PET / CT scans\nWill consider candidates while they re pending their NYS license must be able to obtain prior to start\nEpic experience preferred, but not required\n\n\nRequired Skills\n \n
2 years Nuclear Tech\nNYS License\nARRT Certification w / CE credits\nBLS Certification\nAlerion Healthcare Job ID #1752.
