A leading national environmental science and engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead stormwater compliance and planning projects for public sector clients across California.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead complex stormwater projects, including NPDES compliance, watershed planning, and green infrastructure design.
Serve as Principal-in-Charge for municipal and state agency clients, including Caltrans, USACE, and regional water boards.
Develop and grow client relationships, identify new opportunities, and prepare proposals and budgets.
Generate approximately $1.25M+ in annual net revenue through project leadership and client development.
Mentor and develop staff, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
Qualifications :
PE license in California (required).
15+ years experience in stormwater management, planning, and compliance for public sector agencies.
Proven business development success and ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams.
Advanced degree preferred (MS / PhD), though experienced BS-level candidates may be considered.
Strong knowledge of California stormwater regulations (MS4, Caltrans, TMDLs, LID).
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
