Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Description

S3 has a 3 month+ contract available with a large hospital network in Detroit!

3 months+

On site in Detroit (no remote)

Schedule : M-F 8-5

Required Education - Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science.

Duties- Under direct supervision by laboratory technologist, leader and / or supervisor, performs select procedures on blood and / or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems.

Skills - Required Skills & Experience : Ability to communicate effectively with others. Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions.

Required Certification & Licensure- Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA).

13 week contract Candidate will be working on the Hematology side of the lab.

REQUIRED : Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science, Certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA),

Minimum 2-3 years previous experience in this role or similar, Experience with Urinalysis and Coagulation testing, Experience with manual differentials, Experience with Beckman Coulter or Stago equipment (with DXU system experience preferred). Candidates with Sunquest LIS experience are preferred.
