Ignite Communication Journeys in the Heart of North Carolina - Your Next Adventure as a Speech Language Pathologist Awaits

Overview

Imagine embarking on a career that transforms lives through communication - as a Speech Language Pathologist nestled in one of North Carolina's fast-growing cities, you will do just that. Your expertise will extend beyond the diagnosis of communication and swallowing disorders; you will empower individuals from their earliest years through the golden years, enabling them to express their thoughts, share their stories, and reclaim their independence.

This role offers an incredible chance to connect with diverse clients in a setting that expertly integrates outpatient therapy with the occasional inpatient care. Whether your passion lies in the world of pedriatrics, the intricacies of adult neurogenic communication disorders, or enhancing quality of life for the elderly, you will experience both diversity and flexibility in your practice here.

Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations using both standardized assessments and in-depth observational methods.
  • Craft tailored treatment plans that meet immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions, focusing on aspects such as communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Collaborate closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop cohesive strategies for care.
  • Provide educational resources to patients and their families to enhance progress and engagement outside therapy sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, ensuring consistent continuity of care.
  • Maintain up-to-date and precise documentation that complies with state, federal, and institutional policies.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in the speech-language pathology field through continuous learning and collaboration.

Education

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is preferred if not yet ASHA-certified.
  • Certifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days from the start of employment.
  • Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in evidence-based treatment methods suitable for individuals of all ages, with deep insight into developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Adept at customizing therapy techniques to accommodate a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgment paired with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation standards.
  • Benefits

  • Competitive salary reflective of your experience.
  • Flexible scheduling that promotes a healthy work-life balance and caters to a diverse caseload.
  • Chances to specialize in fields such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
  • Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Education reimbursement and support for professional growth.
  • A collaborative environment focused on quality care and continuous learning.
  • A Career That Challenges and Inspires You

In this fulfilling position, you will not only provide speech therapy; rather, you'll become a vital part of a mission-driven community that thrives on restoring voices, enhancing communication, and shedding light on shared moments of joy that come from understanding one another.

Here, you will ally with skilled practitioners who prioritize teamwork over competition, embracing each patient's unique story and helping to narrate it in their distinct voice.
