Salary : Responsibilities
- Conduct outreach and education about transgender program and services
- Work with Director of Marketing and Communications to draft marketing content for brochures,
flyers and other informational materials. Supply social media content
Develop and present professional trainings on various topics including healthcare, transwellness, and otherapplicable topics
Develop collaborative relationships with other LGBTQ+ groups and partner agenciesWork with Social Services Director & Community Engagement Director to create programming eventsand educational activities
Develop, coordinate, and facilitate wellness programs, workshops, and support groups tailored to theneeds of gender diverse individuals
Answer and follow-up on telephone calls and / or emails received by the agency regarding programquestions and / or issues
Represent the Montrose Center in community meetings that address trans issues.Provide information, referral for participants seeking healthcare, mental health services, housing,employment, and other social services and follow-up as needed
Refer appropriate clients to Case Management for those need more in-depth servicesBuild and maintain resource list trans individualsImplement culturally responsive practices that align with community driven needs and organizationalmission.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED, Bachelors degree preferred. One (1) year experience working with transgender,nonbinary, or gender diverse individuals
Lived experience as a transgender, nonbinary, or gender diverse individual and / or significant experienceworking with the transgender community
Knowledge of community resources; special treatment issues relating to the injection drug use, substanceuse disorder, HIV, community support programs and gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities
Ability to network and create working agreements with other partner agenciesAbility to conduct professional presentations and trainings for internal and external agencies and programsAbility and knowledge to conduct outreach activitiesAbility to mentally and physically cope with stresses caused by regular exposure to the effects of clientsbehavioral health issues and respond appropriately to client crises and seek help in coping when needed
through supervision, case consultation or counseling when needed.
Ability to respond compassionately to persons who are HIV positive and their partners / family.Ability to interact with diverse groups of people in unusual situations.A perspective accepting of a wide variety of peoples problems, attitudes and lifestyles. Goodinterpersonal skills and the ability to work on a team.
