- Lead Youth Development Professional REPORTS TO : ECE / Academy Director CLASSIFIED : Part Time, Non-Exempt MISSION : To inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. JOB SUMMARY : The Lead Youth Development Professional supports and leads daily programs for Pre-K–2nd grade members in our licensed Club.
This role focuses on developing and delivering high-quality programs, ensuring safety, consistency, and engagement while creating a fun, supportive environment where every child can learn and grow. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Lead fun and meaningful programs that help members grow in Academic Success, Character & Leadership, and Healthy Lifestyles. Plan, implement, and deliver age-appropriate, engaging programs and activities in areas such as recreation, fitness, arts, and enrichment that promote learning, creativity, and fun for all members. Model positive behavior and serve as a mentor and role model for Club members, staff and volunteers. Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space where every child feels valued and supported. Support youth with behavioral challenges by using positive redirection and teamwork with staff. Encourage participation and teamwork by building relationships and helping members connect with each other. Keep program areas clean, organized, and safe for members and staff. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, offering feedback and ideas to improve programs. Track attendance and complete basic reports to help evaluate program success. Uphold Club policies and safety standards while promoting the 5 Key Elements of Positive Youth Development. Attend staff meetings and trainings to continue building leadership and professional skills. Demonstrate Club values of excellence, teamwork, impact, and good character in everything you do. Perform other duties as assigned. EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS : High School Diploma or Equivalent Valid CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days of employment.We provide this training in-house if you are not currently certified! Commitment to working four days a week. Commitment to make a class schedule for the upcoming semester, meet the scheduling needs of the Boys & Girls Club (if applicable) Demonstrate a strong commitment to working at the Club during both the school year and summer program seasons. Be available to work after school hours through Club closing during the school year. Be available to work within summer operating hours (7 :
30 a.m.–6 : 00 p.m.) as scheduled to support daily program needs. Must understand, implement, and demonstrate behavior management principles and other youth treatment modalities, per the Club training and values of fun, supportive relationships, recognition, opportunities and expectations, and safety. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be of the mental and physical capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, etc. at the Club to ensure the safety of the space and others, provide guidance and reflection per the Club priority outcomes and goals. Ability to stand / sit for long periods of time throughout a shift. This position is considered to be safety-sensitive.
