Position Title : Mortgage Lender

Reports To : Market President

Status : Hourly; Non-Exempt

Location : Winfield / Arkansas City

Position Summary : This position is responsible for obtaining loan applications through internal and external referrals and from prospective borrowers by developing leads from real estate brokers and agents, home builders, title companies, etc. This position is responsible for structuring and closing in-house real estate loans (construction, bridge and HELOC) as well as developing new business. The position is responsible for referring conventional and government residential mortgage loans for customers who qualify based on assessment of financial and credit data to our secondary market department. This position will provide exceptional service, timely assistance and promote the cross-selling of Bank products and services whenever possible. Represents the Bank in the local community with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity through active involvement in community affairs and participates in marketing all the Banks products and services.

Education and Experience Requirements : Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university, or three to five years of related work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Financial services industry experience preferred. This position requires compliance with the SAFE Act Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS Registry) required upon hire. Good standing with the NMLS Registry must be maintained. Valid drivers license is required to travel to meet with prospects and customers.

Specific Skills Required : Ability to communicate, written and verbal, effectively with people both internally and externally. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with all levels within the organization. Basic computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Able to handle confidential information and positively represent the company.

Competencies : Communication, approachability, tax return analysis, financial statement analysis, high attention to detail, problem solving and critical thinking.

System Accesses : Fiserv Precision, LaserPro, Encompass, Microsoft Office Suite, etc.

Equipment Used : Office equipment which includes computer, imaging scanner, multi-line phone system, multi-function unit, etc.

Working Conditions : Work is performed in an office environment. Prolonged (90%) sitting and periodic (less than 10% of the time) physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry or push heavy objects or materials weighing up to 50 pounds; Constant and repetitive use of arms and hands below shoulder level for computer usage; This position required the individual to perform normal office activities including, but not limited to, lifting, filing, and retrieving, operating office equipment, etc. Travel to other locations will be required.
