We prepare our graduates to effectively serve the needs of the community, individuals with disabilities, and other human service populations as leaders in the field of rehabilitation science and fitness
Job Summary
The Department of Rehabilitation Science and Fitness within the School of Health and Natural Sciences at Middle Georgia State University (MGA) is seeking candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy. This position will support the hybrid format Master's in Occupational Therapy Bridge Program.
Responsibilities
This position involves teaching, advising, scholarship, and service to the institution and community. Responsibilities may include day / and or evening classes, online classes, weekend classes, course development and program planning / evaluation, as well as committee work as assigned. Some travel will be required.
Required Qualifications
Required Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field
Required Experience
3 years clinical / field experience
Experience with online / distance education
Other Required Qualifications
Currently hold an Occupational Therapist license in the state of Georgia or eligible for licensure in Georgia
Initial NBCOT Certification
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Doctoral Degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field.
Preferred Experience
Prior successful teaching experience.
Interest in and experience to support course development.
Clinical experience in a combination of the following areas : geriatrics, pediatrics, mental health, PAMs, assistive technology.
