Wrestling Assistant Coach — Paradise Valley High School. Temporary, FTE 1.0. Season Dates : 11 / 3 / 2025 - 2 / 7 / 2026. Salary : $2,431.00.
Location : Paradise Valley High School. Reports to the Athletic Director.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement program activities in accordance with applicable rules and regulations related to the sport.
- Provide supervision of student athletes during all aspects of their participation in the program.
- Use sound instructional techniques in overseeing the program and serve as a positive role model to student athletes and the community.
- Assist with instruction of sports techniques, playing rules, strategies, and playing tactics to prepare the team and individual student athletes for competition.
- Assess student athletes for feedback on performance and team placement.
- Attend meetings, workshops, and conferences to receive and convey information related to the role.
- Communicate with parents, students, officials, administrators, and the community for information, assistance, and direction.
- Maintain records (e.g., statistics, permits, emergency information, schedules, equipment inventories) to comply with district, athletic conference, and state requirements.
- Manage uniforms, equipment, and facilities to ensure safety and proper use.
- Monitor student athletes' academic eligibility and provide interventions (e.g., counseling, tutoring) as needed to maintain eligibility.
- Supervise student athletes during all participation activities to minimize risk of injury.
- Uphold sportsmanship and enforce fair and disciplinary standards among students.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of the work unit.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education : High school diploma or equivalent.Experience : Job-related experience in athletics or coaching preferred.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities : Ability to adapt to changing priorities; first aid knowledge; understanding of laws, codes, policies, and regulations; strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work with diverse groups.Knowledge : Basic math (fractions, percents, ratios); familiarity with equipment used in the activity / program; injury prevention and treatment protocols; participant eligibility, attendance, and discipline guidelines; safety practices.Ability : Schedule activities and events; gather data; work with diverse individuals; problem-solve and create action plans; maintain confidentiality; meet deadlines; demonstrate leadership; sustain sportsmanship.Clearances : Criminal Background Clearance.Other : FLSA Status - Non Exempt.Work Environment
