Official Court Reporter Job at Harris County in Houston

Under minimal supervision, responsible for documenting transcripts related to conversations, speeches, legal proceedings and other legal events held in a County Court.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Document and provide legal transcripts.
• Create word-for-word transcriptions.
• Accurately documents names of the people and the places involved.
• Assist trial attorneys and judges to organize and search for information from official records.
• Organize and manage transcripts and documents prepared for submission upon request.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
• Adhere strictly to the Code of Judicial Conduct as promulgated by the Supreme Court of Texas.
• Assist the court or court coordinator during docket call when instructed by the judge.
• Perform court coordinator duties in the coordinator’s absence when court is not in trial.
