Day-in-the-life : Piping BIM Design Lead (Revit / Fabrication)
Morning in Charlotte : you open the latest project model and evolve a highly detailed 3D mechanical piping layout in Revit. You validate system intent, build in constructability, and prepare fabrication-ready details so our shop can cut, spool, and tag with confidence.
By midday, you’re running clash / interference checks, coordinating with other trades, and resolving issues before they ever hit the field. A quick huddle with project managers and engineers aligns priorities, while a walkthrough with field foremen ensures the design reflects real installation workflows.
In the afternoon, you release shop drawings, annotate hangers and supports, and coach junior modelers on quality standards and best practices. You close the day with a look-ahead—what’s needed next to meet the schedule and keep the Piping Division advancing.
About the role
We have openings in our Piping Division in Charlotte, NC for both a Senior-level BIM Engineer and an Entry-Level BIM Engineer . Both roles focus on mechanical piping design, Revit modeling, and fabrication-level detailing, with the senior hire leading multi-trade coordination efforts.
