🧩Position Summary
The Substance Abuse or TEAP Counselor develops and facilitates the Center’salcohol, drug, and tobacco prevention program, educates and counsels students, and developsindividualized case management plansto enhance student retention and success. All activities comply withHIPAA laws.

What is a TEAP?The Trainee Employee Assistance Program providessupport and counselingto students experiencing substance abuse.
Who leads TEAP?The Wellness Department oversees the program, with the TEAP Counselor facilitating all activities.
Key Responsibilities Include :
Conducting TEAP introductions for all new students
Performing urine screenings for new students / referrals
Conductingweekly individual sessions
Facilitatingweekly group sessions
Leadingweekly recreation sessions
🧩Full Responsibilities
✅ Follow integrity guidelines and ensure no manipulation of student data
✅ Develop and implement alcohol, drug, and tobacco prevention activities
✅ Coordinate community resources for educating students on substance use
✅ Administer drug testing programs
✅ Provideindividualized case managementfor student success
✅ Counsel students individually and in groups
✅ Produce quality work, maintain attendance, and meet productivity standards
✅ Mentor and model Career Success Standards
✅ Collaborate with staff to ensure effective student supervision
✅ Communicate clearly and solve problems proactively
✅ Accept direction from Center leadership and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school preferred. A minimum of one-year experience in drug / alcohol counseling or related field required. Valid, active, unrestricted in-state License or Certification in Substance Abuse Counseling / Prevention required. Regional approval required.
