Job description

Arconic is currently searching for an ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR to join our Global Rolled Products Team in Bettendorf, IA.

Responsibilities

Manage Oracle databases (11g, 19c) at the Davenport Works location through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
Manage PHP scripts and Pro C application for data processing between Oracle databases and other systems.
Support Oracle Linux OS, including RPM packages for ssh, sftp, email, RPC, alerting functionality.
Implement SSL certificates, password hashing security solutions.
Analyze data and interpret process mapping, modeling, documentation.
Configure and maintain database processes, monitor system health and performance to ensure high levels of performance, availability, security.
Independently analyze, solve, correct real-time issues, providing end-to-end problem resolution.
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, document changes.
Implement robust backup and disaster recovery practices.
Provide 24 / 7 support for critical production systems.
Support compliance activities, perform annual system testing, assist audit teams, perform disaster recovery testing.

Demonstrate knowledge of systems and technology application, including architecture, hardware, operations, lifecycle.

Use critical thinking, logic and reasoning to evaluate solutions, conclusions, approaches.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, math, or related subject.

Legal authorization to work in United States; verification of employment eligibility required at time of hire; visa sponsorship not available.

5 years minimum experience in a similar role.

Position subject to ITAR, requiring U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee, refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field from accredited institution.

Experience with backups, restores, recovery models.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Flexible, team player, "get-it-done" personality.

Ability to organize and plan work independently.

Ability to work in rapidly changing environment.

Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between activities and teams.

Advanced knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, operations.

Strong relationship skills and ability to interact with internal and external customers, other analysts, management.

Demonstrated proficiency in business modeling, process modeling, data modeling.

Ability to introduce new ideas and concepts that enhance customer experience, streamline operations, and provide optimal security.

Solid understanding of systems analysis, design, programming techniques.

Experience translating business requirements into system functional and non-functional requirements.

Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards, best practices, including firewall rules, Active Directory, secure transmissions, low-level security.

Knowledge of API or rest services integrations.
