Full Time Data Engineer (Baseball Systems Developer)

The Los Angeles Angels are seeking a Data Engineer (Baseball Systems Developer) to join the Baseball Operations Research & Development team. In this role, you will work with other developers to design, build, and maintain the data infrastructure that powers the Angels' decision-making processes across scouting, player development, and in-game strategy. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Research and Development.

This position is benefit-eligible, including : medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401K eligibility; employee contributions after 3 months; employer matching and safe harbor after 1 year and 1000 hours of employment; and additional perks not listed above. The expected annual salary for this position ranges from $95,000 to $110,000. Final offers will be made within these parameters.

Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines to collect, transform, and store large volumes of baseball-related data from multiple sources.
• Schedule automated job processes to ingest, aggregate, and manipulate data in real or near-real time.
• Work closely with data scientists, developers, IT, and other stakeholders to ensure data quality, availability, and accessibility.
• Implement data validation and monitoring tools to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
• Contribute to system design decisions and engineering best practices within Baseball Operations.
