The facility has 109 licensed beds and is not a trauma center. It operates as an advanced primary stroke center. The unit has a total of 16 beds. Patient types include pediatrics and adults with conditions such as COPD, CHF, chest pain, myocardial infarction, N-STEMI, stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, uncontrolled diabetes, and minor trauma. Patient ratios are typically 1 RN to 4-5 patients based on acuity. The department has support from CNAs and charge nurses, but nurses may also have patient assignments. An IV / VAT team is available, although not in-house every day. Respiratory therapy and hospitalists are available 24 / 7, alongside a dedicated ED physician team. Monitoring is available both at the bedside and via central telemetry. Travelers may be required to float to different facilities within the region as needed, while remaining on the clock for travel time during mid-shift float assignments. For this role, a general med-surg equipment and telemetry experience is necessary. The EMR used is Epic and equipment includes Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell for medication dispensing. Candidates should be comfortable with the skill sets required for the Emergency Department.
