Scrub Technologist

Our Client, a Healthcare company, is looking for a Scrub Technologist for their Bangor, ME location.

Responsibilities :

• Per the standards of the Association of Surgical Technologist surgical technologist work under the direct supervision of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
• The ST is responsible for ensuring the operating room environment is safe, equipment functions properly, and the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.
• The ST handles instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. The technologist has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon.
• Duties of the technologist include, but are not limited to : checking supplies and equipment needed for a procedure; scrubs, gowns and gloves self, surgeon and assistants; performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operating and before the incision is closed; assists in draping the sterile field; passes instruments to the surgeon during the procedure; maintains the highest standard of sterile technique; assists with terminal cleaning of room; cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization and assist in prepping the surgical suite for the next patient.
• The ST is also responsible for working with new employees and students and help train them in the ST role.
• The ST is not permitted to function in the circulating nurse roll, first assistant roll and is restricted from administering medications and completing patient records.

• The Scrub Tech is also responsible for working with new employees and students and help train them in the Scrub Tech role.
