Surgical Technologist for Open Heart Cases

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist with expertise in managing the sterile field and assisting with open heart surgical cases. This position requires a strong background in surgical technology, including the preparation of the operating room and the management of surgical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operating room and ensure the sterile field is maintained.
  • Set up surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions.
  • Assist the surgeon by passing instruments, fluids, and supplies during surgery.
  • Manage surgical equipment and maintain an organized workspace.
  • Perform counts of sponges, instruments, and supplies to prevent retained objects.
  • Handle specimens as required during surgical procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications

  • Expert first scrub experience for open heart cases.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.
  • Previous travel experience as a Surgical Technologist is required.

    • Schedule

    The position involves shifts from 06 : 00 to 14 : 30, Monday through Friday, with on-call requirements.

    Assignment Duration

    This is a 13-week contract position.
