Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Foster Care Case Manager to join our Foster Care team serving Kent, Kalamazoo, and Muskegon Counties. In this role, you will provide compassionate, person-centered support to children and families, helping them build on their strengths to achieve safety, stability, and lasting change.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the development, review, and implementation of services, case management, and safety or behavior intervention plans.
- Oversee all services provided to children and families, ensuring quality of care, compliance with contractual terms, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Facilitate community referrals, resources, and services to support family needs.
- Coordinate and monitor required medical and dental services for foster children.
- Visit each assigned child at least once per month in the foster home.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records and submit timely documentation and reports.
- Prepare court reports and petitions; attend hearings and provide testimony supporting the permanency, safety, and well-being of the child.
- Coordinate and supervise visitation between children, parents, siblings, and relatives.
- Serve as a liaison with schools, community agencies, and service providers.
- Participate in staff meetings, treatment planning, and professional development activities.
- Administer drug screens and transport clients as needed.
- Engage families in case planning and encourage active participation in services.
- Provide emergency, on-call interventions after hours, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
- Integrate learning from required DHHS training into daily responsibilities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a human services-related field (required).Current and valid Michigan driver’s license, car registration, and auto insurance (required).Experience in foster care, child welfare, or family services (preferred)Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Compassionate, reliable, and committed to quality service and professional ethics.Ability to work independently and together with a teamSchedule and Compensation
Employment Type : Full-time, 40 hours per week.Schedule : On-site, with travel throughout Kent, Kalamazoo, Muskegon and surrounding areas for home visits and community meetings.Pay Rate : $43,800 + per year, based off of experience.On-call : participate in a rotating on-call schedule with your team.Benefits
