Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med / Surg Float Pool RN with a WI or compact license and recent Epic experience for night shifts with floating across multiple units.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital float pool, primarily at a 200-bed facility, with floating to additional campuses as needed
  • Float to Med / Surg, ED, Oncology, Ortho / Neuro, Heart Care, ICU, and similar inpatient units
  • 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation required
  • No on-call or call-back responsibilities
  • Uses Epic EMR, experience within the last year preferred
  • Required to float between campuses and units according to census
  • Duties include providing care across multiple inpatient units and adapting to various clinical settings
  • Candidate must be resilient, able to manage change well, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
  • Scrub color is flexible; any scrubs may be worn
  • COVID-19 vaccination required unless an approved medical or religious exemption is provided
  • Must participate in holiday coverage rotations as assigned

    • Requirements

  • Active WI or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg experience required
  • Recent acute care hospital experience required
  • Must be able to read telemetry
  • At least one completed traveler contract preferred
  • Recent Epic charting experience required within the last 12 months
  • Must be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment with strong documentation skills
