Lead the Commercial Engine of O’Neal Steel in St. Joseph, MO

A day in this role
- Morning : Coach inside sales reps during a pipeline huddle, fine-tune pricing strategy, and align targets for revenue, margin, and growth. (This team may also include outside sales representatives.)
- Midday : Visit a fabrication customer, host a relationship lunch, and resolve a service issue with professionalism and urgency.
- Afternoon : Partner with Operations and Purchasing to confirm lead times, accuracy of quotes, and on-time delivery commitments.
- Late day : Review competitor activity and market trends, identify new account opportunities, and plan outreach for the St. Joseph territory.
What you’ll own
Lead, develop, and manage an inside sales team to achieve revenue, margin, and growth goals; may also include oversight of Outside Sales Reps.Build and sustain trusted relationships across manufacturing, fabrication, and construction sectors—hosting customers, visiting existing and prospective accounts, and resolving complaints promptly.Drive new business development and retention strategies to expand the St. Joseph footprint.Collaborate closely with Operations and Purchasing to ensure seamless service, precise pricing, and reliable delivery.Continuously analyze pricing, market trends, and competitive activity to target expansion opportunities.Recruit, train, and motivate sales talent while fostering accountability, teamwork, and customer focus.Travel as needed to achieve sales objectives.What you bring
5+ years of leadership experience in the steel service center, metals distribution, fabrication, or industrial supply industry.Proven success managing accounts, negotiating contracts, and closing complex deals.Strong knowledge of steel products, processing, and supply chain dynamics.Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.A hands-on, proactive approach with a track record of delivering results.You should be proficient in : Recruiting.Compensation, perks, and growth
