Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Management
- Direct and manage the estimating team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all bids.
- Develop and implement best practices for estimating processes and cost control.
- Preconstruction & Estimating
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial interior projects, including labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documents to determine scope and pricing.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with project managers, architects, and clients during preconstruction phases.
- Present estimates and value engineering options to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Market & Risk Analysis
- Stay current on market trends, material costs, and labor rates in the Manhattan area.
- Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate cost overruns.

The Successful Applicant
Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of estimating experience in commercial interiors; prior leadership experience preferred. Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Skills:
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar).
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of Manhattan construction market, building codes, and union/non-union labor practices.
