Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Management
  • Direct and manage the estimating team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all bids.
  • Develop and implement best practices for estimating processes and cost control.
• Preconstruction & Estimating
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial interior projects, including labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documents to determine scope and pricing.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
• Collaboration & Communication
  • Work closely with project managers, architects, and clients during preconstruction phases.
  • Present estimates and value engineering options to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Market & Risk Analysis
  • Stay current on market trends, material costs, and labor rates in the Manhattan area.
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate cost overruns.

The Successful Applicant

Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of estimating experience in commercial interiors; prior leadership experience preferred. Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Skills:

• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar).
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Knowledge: Deep understanding of Manhattan construction market, building codes, and union/non-union labor practices.
