Leidos is seeking dedicated licensed behavioral health professionals to join our Child and Youth Behavioral, Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) team.
Your mission will be to support U.S. military service members and their families through the unique emotional and environmental challenges they face due to military life. This is a rewarding opportunity for you to make a significant impact by providing non-medical support, including counseling, consultation, and outreach to eligible faculty, staff, parents, children, and youth.
The Child and Youth Behavioral Military and Family Life Counselor (CYB-MFLC) plays a critical role in offering preventive counseling aimed at resolving issues before they escalate.
CYB-MFLC responsibilities include :
- Working at Child Development Centers (CDCs) with children ages 0-5 and in before or after-school care centers for school-aged children, youth and teens, focusing on educational activities and appropriate developmental practices.
- Engaging in various activities with children and youth, providing coaching and support to staff and parents and modeling behavior management techniques.
- Delivering presentations that promote social skills development and social-emotional learning, essential for childhood growth.
- Encouraging creativity and positivity using approved educational materials.
- Building meaningful connections with parents and families by participating in community and installation events.
- Assisting children with transition adjustments, such as moving to a new school or home.
- Participating in regular in-service training and additional contract activities as assigned.
- Providing feedback on trends and issues at assigned installations to Team Leads.

Responding to emergent situations anywhere on a military installation.Traversing various indoor and outdoor locations, including rugged or uneven terrain.Traveling to locations outside of military bases in differing physical environments.Complying with site-specific requirements to access designated locations on military installations.Work Environment :
Duties are performed primarily indoors (approximately 60%) and outdoors (approximately 40%). Outdoor work often involves traversing uneven terrain and exposure to weather conditions while engaging directly with children.
Minimum Requirements :
A master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS / MSW / MA / PhD).Licensure at the independent practice level (LCSW, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in any U.S. state.Must be a U.S. citizen with a passport valid for at least six months post-assignment.Ability to pass a background check, and a Child National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI / CNACI) clearance.Original Posting Date : July 10, 2025
Pay Range : $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
