American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Pediatric ICU position requiring a CA license, BLS, and PALS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at a Level 1 trauma teaching hospitalCare for pediatric patients with high acuity including injury, respiratory failure, shock, multi-system failure, poisonings, near drowning, meningitis, post-op cardiac surgical, and neurosurgery casesNurse to patient ratio is 1 : 1-2Float required within hospital to CVPICU and NICU as neededFlexible schedule required for 3x12 hour variable shifts; must be able to work both days and nightsWeekend shifts required based on schedule with one full weekend off per 4-week scheduleWork two out of three major holidays, no Christmas time off allowedUses Epic EMRExperience with ventilators, multiple monitoring systems, CVP, and EKG requiredResponsibilities include delivering specialized care to critically ill children across a broad range of diagnosesMust be willing and able to float between PICU, CVPICU, and NICU settings, including to satellite locations for NICUMileage for NICU / float assignments will be reimbursed at the IRS standard rate with timely submission of formsHospital is Magnet Recognized, offers a collaborative team environment, and is nationally awarded for excellence in pediatric careStaff can wear any scrub color except blackNo on-call requiredRTO is limited to 6 days; no Christmas RTO permittedMust meet requirements for vaccination, modules, and orientation prior to start\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license in hand or ETA from state licensingMinimum 2 years of recent independent PICU nursing experience within the last yearCurrent BLS and PALS certifications requiredExperience with Epic EMR preferredExperience in use of ventilators and multiple monitors is requiredFlu vaccine requiredFirst-time travelers accepted with strong experienceApplicants must not reside within 50 miles of the facilityPrevious perm staff must wait one year before eligibilityMust provide two recent professional references from supervisors\n Benefits\n
