About The Position

Job Title : CT Technologist

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Two (2) years of CT scanning experience required.

License : ARRT(CT) and license for practicing state.

Certifications : BLS

Must-Have :

• Two (2) years of CT scanning experience
• ARRT(CT) certification
• License for practicing state
• BLS certification

Description :

The CT Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images.

The images must meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards.

Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, as well as image quality.

Applies professional knowledge to prepare patients for procedures, educate them, and respond to their questions or concerns.

Ensures an age-appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education, and principles of physical / functional growth and development.

Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging technique, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques.

Oversees and trains students in providing patient care, treatment, and services as part of their training.

Verifies the ordered exam and appropriateness utilizing assessment data and principles of growth and development.

Administers contrast as directed.

Positions the patient and equipment to achieve optimal images.

Utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images.

Works with physicians to evaluate the images and determine whether additional images are needed.

Applies radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.

Prepares patients for procedures, educates them, and responds to their questions or concerns.

Ensures an age-appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education, and principles of physical / functional growth and development.
