Account Manager - Remote – Mid-Atlantic (MD / DC / VA)
A rapidly growing environmental services organization is seeking an experienced Account Manager to drive business development and client relationships across the Mid-Atlantic region. This role focuses on supporting regulated waste generators, industrial operations, government facilities, and commercial clients with customized environmental and waste management solutions.
We are looking for a self-directed, relationship-driven sales professional who thrives in the field, understands the nuances of regulated waste programs, and can build strong partnerships across a wide variety of industries.
What You’ll Do
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with industrial, commercial, and government accounts
- Conduct on-site visits to understand customer operations, waste streams, service needs, and compliance considerations
- Provide guidance on waste handling, characterization, packaging, and transportation requirements
- Manage proposals, pricing, and contract processes in coordination with internal service and operations teams
- Oversee account performance and ensure ongoing client satisfaction
- Spend a portion of your week actively in-territory (field visits, site meetings, prospecting). Overnight travel is limited and determined by territory layout.
What Makes You a Strong Candidate
Must be located within the Mid-Atlantic region (MD / DC / VA)2–5+ years of outside sales experience in environmental services, industrial services, or a similarly technical, field-based sales roleBackground supporting regulated waste generators , industrial facilities, labs, hospitals, manufacturers, universities, or government agenciesComfort working with waste profiles, manifests, RCRA guidelines, and basic regulatory requirementsProven track record of hunting and building new businessStrong communication skills and the ability to engage customers at multiple organizational levelsBachelor's degree (sales, marketing, science, business) or 7+ years of proven industry related sales experiencePreferred Experience :
Hazardous waste industry experience (field services, lab pack, industrial waste, TSD, specialty waste)Federal contract experience (DoD, VA, federal labs, GSA, or government contracting processes)Why This Opportunity
