Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Harlingen, TX 78550 (South Texas healthcare jobs) Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract Start Date : December 10, 2025 (weekly Wednesday starts available) Shift : 12-hour day shifts (6 : 45 AM – 7 : 15 PM) Hours per Week : 36 hours Unit : Medical Surgical (Med / Surg 231, 32 beds) Nurse-Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 Charting System : Cerner EMR Scrub Color : Navy blue Estimated Weekly Pay : $1420 - $1530 Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred) Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience Ability to float to Orthopedics, Comprehensive Medical Unit, Oncology, and Accountability Care Unit as needed Experience with Cerner electronic charting preferred Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses (DKA, pneumonia, COPD, diabetic ulcers, appendicitis, cellulitis, pancreatitis, osteomyelitis, and more) Perform and manage special procedures such as NGT insertions, PICC line management, dressing changes, and wound vacs Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Cerner EMR Float to other hospital units as needed to provide clinical support Take the next step in your nursing career with this Med / Surg RN travel job in Harlingen, Texas.
