Job Description

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time Foreman (Machine Shop) in Mayport, FL.

Summary : Supervises and coordinates the activities of the Machine Shop. Acts as liaison between customer and company.

Responsibilities : \n

  • Recruits and trains subordinate personnel; establishes safety and work performance standards.

\n

  • Plans, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of trades helper subordinates on various shipboard repair projects.
  • \n

  • Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
  • \n

  • Monitor employees' work levels and review work performance.
  • \n

  • Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
  • \n

  • Investigate accidents and injuries,and prepare reports of findings.
  • \n

  • Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
  • \n

  • Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
  • \n

  • Compile operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
  • \n

  • Prepares routine work and time reports and maintains standard records.
  • \n

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates maintenance policies and procedures.
  • \n

  • Examines objects, systems, or facilities, and analyzes information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
  • \n

  • Assists program and project teams with prospective work estimates and hours needed to complete the job including material procurement, quotes and duration of project.
  • \n

  • Conducts or arranges for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
  • \n

  • Performs related work as required.
  • \n \n

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    \n

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • \n

  • 5 years' related ship repair / structural work experience
  • \n

  • Ability to travel 5% -10% of the time
  • \n

  • Ability to communicate effectively, work independently or in a group.
  • \n

  • Ability to do basic math, ie. add, subtract, divide and multiply.
  • \n

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • \n

  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations and private shipyards.
  • \n \n

    ADA / Work Environment :

    \n

  • Shop environment, pier side and shipboard.
  • \n

  • Frequent standing, sitting, crawling, kneeling, stooping, crouching, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms.
  • \n

  • Regular communication (hearing / speaking).
  • \n

  • Occasional lifting up to 50+ pounds.
  • \n

  • Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.
  • \n

  • Able to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up / down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts / yardarms (on board ships)
