Teen Counselor

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is a non-profit organization that provides education, wellness, youth development, and community-building services. We are looking for a Teen Counselor to join our team and carry out our mission to positively impact lives and communities across the state.

Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, the Teen Counselor plans, organizes, and leads program activities at the Y Branch, ensuring the safety of youth and teens participating in programs and clubs. This is a grant-funded position.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily program tasks related to the position's scope and responsibility.
• Provide leadership and supervision to participants within the program.
• Instruct lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines.
• Stay updated on current issues regarding programs.
• Promote, monitor, evaluate, and ensure that all programs run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.
• Coordinate and ensure all program components are implemented and met to meet compliance with the Goizueta Grant.
• Build effective relationships with teen participants and parents / guardians.
• Assist as needed in all aspects of the YMCA and its community.
• Responsible for maintaining and reporting incident / accident paperwork.
• Other duties as assigned.
