Salary : $110.00 USD Hourly - $120.00 USD Hourly

Description : Physician Reviewer (Remote) – Contract-to-Hire

Job Type : Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire (Temp to Perm)

Contract Rate : $110–$120 / hour

Conversion Salary : $250,000 annually

Location : Fully Remote – Must reside in Illinois, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Texas

Schedule : Monday–Friday | 40 hours / week

Start Date : ASAP

Note : This is a non-clinical role. No direct patient care or medical diagnosis is involved.

About The Role

We are seeking a Board-Certified Physician Reviewer to join a leading healthcare organization in a fully remote capacity. This role is ideal for experienced physicians looking to transition into a utilization management or clinical review position. You’ll play a key role in evaluating clinical service requests, applying evidence-based criteria, and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate clinical service requests from members and providers.
  • Apply clinical judgment and organizational guidelines to determine medical necessity.
  • Collaborate with case managers to support anticipatory case management.
  • Participate in appeals processes for denied services.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of internal policies and procedures.
  • Support continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives.
  • Provide clinical leadership and insights across the organization.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. with active, unrestricted medical license.
  • Board Certification by an ABMS-recognized specialty board. (Family, Internal, Emergency)
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience , including inpatient care.
  • Prior experience in Utilization Review or Managed Care preferred.
  • Strong understanding of managed care principles and medical necessity criteria.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for clinical documentation and file review.
