Location : Hudson

Pay Rate : $15.50 per hour

The Coarc Cafe is located in the Columbia Greene Community College campus. We provide breakfast and lunch to staff, students, and visitors of the college.

We are looking for reliable and consistent team members to join us on a part-time, substitute basis (1–2 shifts per week).

Shift Availability : Monday to Thursday

  • Morning : 9 : 00 AM – 1 : 00 PM
  • Afternoon : 12 : 00 PM – 3 : 30 PM (Some flexibility available)

Responsibilities include :

  • Cashier duties
  • Light food preparation
  • General kitchen clean-up
  • Dishwashing

    • Note : The later shift (12–3 : 30 PM) tends to focus more on clean-up and light prep work.

    Requirements :

  • High school diploma or TASC (formerly known as GED)
  • One to three months related retail experience and / or retail training preferred.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds-occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physical activity such as sit, stand, crouch, kneel, bend, etc.

    GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

    A Cafe / Retail Salesperson is responsible for assisting customers as they shop within the store / cafe. Duties include greeting customers, answering questions related to the merchandise and store policies and locating items for customers.

    Perform in a manner that promotes cooperation with others, e.g. consistently demonstrates a positive attitude, remain open and adaptable to change, do what you say you will do and focus on productivity not activity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Welcomes customers by greeting and offering assistance.
  • Advises customers by providing information on products.
  • Helps customers make selections by building customer confidence, offering suggestions and opinions.
  • Processes payments by totaling purchases; processing cash and credit cards.
  • Keeps clientele informed by notifying them of sales and future merchandise of potential interest.
  • Cleans and organizes store / cafe as required.
  • Closes out the register daily, properly documents days' sales and makes night deposit as required.
