Patient Safety Assistant

Description

Dependent upon availability, possible shift times could include :

6 : 30PM-7AM, 6 : 30AM-7PM (12 hour Shifts),

or 2 : 30PM-11PM, 10 : 30PM-7AM, 6 : 30AM-3PM, (8 hour Shifts)

Recruiter will discuss shift availability upon time of offer

This position will require every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) in addition to varied weekday shift

Job Summary

• Is effectively involved with maintaining the safety for assigned patients through continuous observation and surveillance. Communicates with the Registered Nurse and patient care team to ensure a safe environment for medical patients requiring constant observation. Completes duties as assigned under the direct supervision of the RN.

Job Requirements

Preferred : High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred : Previous patient sitter experience

Must be 18 years of age or older

Able to communicate and work with a wide variety of staff, patients and families

Basic computer skills

Ability to problem solve

Flexibility and ability to remain alert to safety issues
