CCP specializes in providing comprehensive cardiology care and currently has over 30 locations throughout the Philadelphia area. We are currently hiring for a full-time Medical Assistant at our Springfield, PA location.

Position Summary : The ECA Medical Assistant supports nurses and providers in delivering high-quality patient care within the Enhanced Cardiac Access (ECA) Unit. This role is responsible for assisting with clinical procedures, patient preparation, and documentation while maintaining a safe, efficient, and compassionate environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms; obtain vital signs and perform electrocardiograms (EKGs).
• Record patient history, chief complaint, medications, allergies, and family / social history in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, including phlebotomy, following established protocols for handling and transport.
• Apply universal precautions and follow exposure procedures for bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids.
• Safely handle and dispose of medical waste.
• Change or apply wound dressings as directed.
• Apply Holter monitors and provide appropriate patient education.
• Reinforce diet and medication instructions per provider orders; provide educational resources to patients.
• Ensure exam rooms are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and follow office procedures for ordering supplies.
• Check medical equipment for safety and functionality; promptly report any issues.
• Complete clerical duties, including filing, scanning, scheduling, insurance eligibility / precertification and maintaining patient records in the EMR.
• Safeguard patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and quality patient care.
• Follow established protocols for emergency response situations.
• Provide cross-coverage in other clinical areas as needed.
