About The Position

Job Title : Operating Room Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum of 2 years

License : Licensed as a Surgical Technologist in the state required

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Must-Have :

Completion of a Certified Surgical Technologist program

Ability to demonstrate expertise in sterile and aseptic technique

Description :

Assists during surgical procedures by ensuring and maintaining the integrity of a sterile surgical field.

Provides instrumentation as needed to the surgical team.

Participates in unit activities that assure high levels of quality related to patient care.

Functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique.

Applies knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures in performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

Maintains and checks all items for proper packaging, processing, and expiration dates.

Ensures that the operating room environment is safe and that equipment functions properly.

Monitors the sterile field for contamination events and initiates corrective action as needed.

Maintains flexibility while contributing to individualized delivery of care within the scope of practice.

Models effective communication with the perioperative team.

Assists team in patient transports, room turnovers, and room preparation.

Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.

Demonstrates professional behavior and maintains currency in new technologies and procedures.

Role models principles of a Just Culture.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Must adhere to HIPAA regulations.
