Job Title : Applications Engineer - CNC Programming & Manufacturing Support

Woburn, MA

Overview :

A precision manufacturer in the medical and aerospace space is seeking to join their engineering and production team. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong CAD / CAM skills who enjoys working directly with machining operations, problem-solving on the floor, and supporting advanced CNC manufacturing.

This position offers the best of both worlds - small-shop feel combined with the resources and stability of a larger company. You’ll be involved in programming, process improvement, and supporting operators on mill-turn and multi-axis machining projects.

What You’ll Do :

  • Develop and optimize CNC programs for Swiss, mill-turn, and 5-axis equipment
  • Use Mastercam, Esprit, or similar CAM tools for programming and simulation
  • Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to resolve production challenges
  • Design fixtures and tooling to support efficient setups and operations
  • Apply DFMA principles to improve manufacturability and reduce costs
  • Participate in process validation, continuous improvement, and troubleshooting efforts
  • Provide hands-on technical support on the shop floor
  • Contribute to new product introduction and scaling projects

What We’re Looking For :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in applications, manufacturing, or process engineering
  • Proficiency with CAD / CAM software (Mastercam, Esprit, Siemens NX, etc.)
  • Hands-on CNC programming experience (mill-turn, 5-axis, or Swiss preferred)
  • Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and machining processes
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship
