Crime Reduction Unit Deputy

The Galveston County Sheriff's Office Crime Reduction Unit is a proactive law enforcement unit utilized to deter, prevent, and address criminal activity in specific areas of interest throughout Galveston County. The Crime Reduction Unit primarily focuses on Violent Crimes, Gang Activity, Firearms Offenses, Narcotics Activity, and other crime trends that negatively affect the safety of the citizens of Galveston County. This position requires an experienced understanding of law enforcement procedures, proactive mindset, the ability to work under pressure in high-stress situations, and the ability to work and collaborate with other divisions / agencies.

The Galveston County Sheriff's Office Crime Reduction Unit is responsible for developing and processing predictive crime analytics as well as processing real-time crime information to rapidly plan and implement enforcement actions / operations. The primary focus and goal of these actions / operations is to deter, prevent, and address criminal activity in specific areas of interest.

These responsibilities will be accomplished by :

• Timely and accurate intelligence management.
• Rapid deployment of personnel and resources to target areas.
• Consistent and timely follow-ups / assessments to ensure the problem(s) has been solved.
• Responding to actively occurring criminal acts.
• Planning and Executing Enforcement Operations.
• Planning and Executing Arrest / Search Warrants.
• Assisting in Developing and Executing Operation Plans for Special Events.
• Assisting other Divisions and Agencies with Enforcement Operations.
• Continued Education and Training
