Job Description

Join Hewlett-Packard / HP as an HPC Supercomputer Hardware Administrator / Engineer to work with cutting-edge technology and make a significant impact on the company's success. You will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining high-performance computing systems essential to business operations. We are seeking a self-motivated problem-solver with excellent communication skills and a desire to continuously learn.

Location : Spring, Texas. You will support HPE Cray supercomputers at a mission-critical Oil and Gas customer, reporting daily and working physically at the customer site. You will be part of the customer's HPE site team, collaborating with the customer and remote HPE teams. Familiarity with Linux, hardware troubleshooting, and a willingness to learn and grow is essential. Routine work includes daily break-fix repairs, extensive troubleshooting, and part replacement on the customer's systems. You will also participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation (1 week every 1.5 months).

Work Arrangement

Onsite Full-time; this role requires daily in-person attendance at a non-HPE worksite; this is not remote or hybrid.

Responsibilities

  • Report daily to, and physically work at, the customer's site.
  • Identify, analyze, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware issues with focus on responsiveness and communication.
  • Engage in technical problem solving across multiple technologies.
  • Create and own service tickets via Salesforce and update through closure.
  • Gather data, perform analysis, and escalate problems to higher-level product support groups to ensure timely resolution.
  • Verify and implement detailed technical solutions to problems.
  • Participate as part of a team and maintain good relationships with team members and customers.
  • Maintain onsite part inventory.
  • Occasional travel for training is required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience with Linux-based operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and within a team.
  • Strong problem solving and self-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of architectural dependencies of technologies.
  • Ability to work in a multi-technology environment and diagnose complex problems to root cause.
  • Ability to communicate concepts clearly with team members and peers.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong desire to learn and improve.
  • Experience in HPC or large-scale data center environments is a plus.
  • Education and Experience Required

  • 3–5 years of technical experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; without a degree, 5–7 years total relevant experience.
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise-level servers, storage, and networking equipment.
  • Experience in large-scale data centers and / or HPC is a plus.

    Additional Information
