Objectives / Purpose
The Marketing Chief of Staff for BioLife serves as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the Global Head of Marketing, ensuring organizational success through seamless execution of marketing strategies and operational excellence. This role focuses on driving leadership priorities, facilitating cross-functional collaboration, and enhancing team effectiveness. The Chief of Staff will lead planning and governance forums, foster a high-performing team culture, and implement robust business processes to enable efficient strategy deployment and measurable outcomes. Through proactive partnership with senior leaders and a relentless focus on improvement, they will identify and advance key opportunities to ensure the BioLife marketing organization delivers exceptional results.
Accountabilities
Strategic Partnership & Advisory
- Serve as a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the Global Head of Marketing for BioLife.
- Collaborate with marketing leadership and cross-functional teams to determine and prioritize marketing strategies and drive results.
- Act as an objective advisor to maximize team and organizational effectiveness.
Leadership & Organizational Development
Lead planning of strategy, leadership, and team-building activities, including leadership meetings, offsite events, team culture building, and strategic planning sessions.Design and develop rhythms of business to drive organizational effectiveness across the BioLife marketing team.Facilitate Marketing Team meetings to drive accountability and coordinate mechanisms across the team, including workshops.Provide mentorship and coaching to the Marketing team, as appropriate.Strategy & Process Deployment
Provide support for effective strategy deployment, overseeing annual planning schedules and ensuring regular updates on business KPIs.Facilitate and streamline information flow within the BioLife marketing team and across other functions, such as Operations, Transformation, and functional leadership.Align and improve business processes, deploying efficient systems and measuring results for continuous improvement.Governance & Engagement
Facilitate governance forums to strengthen transparency and accountability across the organization.Create materials for diverse engagement forums (e.g., Town Halls, speaking engagements, team meetings) to enhance communication and employee engagement.Prepare strategic materials to effectively convey BioLife's marketing strategy to internal and external stakeholders.Planning, Reporting & Improvement
Lead preparation of business reviews, goal-setting initiatives, and evaluation of progress against BioLife marketing strategies.Support data reporting on performance status, including quarterly operating reviews, team projects, and KPI tracking.Facilitate and coordinate monthly and annual planning processes such as Strategic Plans, Annual Global Objectives, and Financial reviews.Projects & Innovation
Lead and manage special projects, including donor-facing initiatives.Identify and advance key partnership and business development opportunities to drive organizational growth.Engage with the evolving marketing landscape, educating the team on new tools, marketplace developments, and innovations.Other duties may be assigned.Dimensions and Aspects

Education and experience :
Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred12+ years' experience, including 5+ years of marketing management experience; some consulting experience preferredBehavioral competencies and skills :
