Hochheiser & Akmal PLLC , a premier corporate boutique law firm based in Garden City, New York, is seeking an entry-level associate to join its Corporate Department.  H&A offers a successful candidate the opportunity to work on complex and cutting-edge commercial transactions for national and multinational companies in a convenient, suburban environment.  The firm’s culture is centered around the concept of providing a unique law firm experience for both our clients and our associates.  Our clients value our ability to practice at the crossroads of business and law by providing business-driven, practical legal advice.  Our attorneys are highly-trained and carefully selected and enjoy the opportunity to work in an energetic and dynamic think tank atmosphere.

Responsibilities :

  • Conduct legal research and draft research memos
  • Analyze and summarize changes to law
  • Support the senior attorneys on projects and tasks as needed

Skills & Profile :

  • Strong Westlaw experience
  • Proven strong legal research, writing and analytical skills
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, organize and express complex legal material quickly and accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and proactively meet deadlines and achieve individual objectives within larger team projects and goals
  • High levels of self-direction, self-motivation and energy
  • Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively relate to and build relationships with all levels of staff
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Desire to gain experience and contribute to general corporate matters

    • Qualifications :

  • Admission to the New York Bar
  • One (1)+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong academic background with journal and / or moot court experience
  • Strong computer abilities, including use of Microsoft Office products; Word, Outlook and Excel highly preferred
